Description:
This database contains residential and geographical information data about care homes in Wales.
The care home dataset is derived from the registry held by the Care Inspectorate Wales, with missing details completed manually. care homes are categorised into three groups, with subcategories:
a) Adult residential: Adult Care Home / Young, Adult Care Home / Older, Adult Care Home with nursing Younger, Adult Care Home with nursing Older.
b) Adult Placement: Placement Scheme, Small Care Home.
c) Domiciliary Care: Agency 200hrs or more, Agency up to 199hrs, Supported Housing.
To join to this dataset in SAIL, you must also specifically request the Residential Anonymous Linkage Field (RALF) variable from the Welsh Demographic Service Dataset (WDSD) as part of the project governance (IGRP) application, to enable linkage at the residence-level.
